Dear fellow pilgrims,
I arranged for this announcement to be sent to you today, as I wanted you to be among the first to know about this exciting news. We have been working for months to prepare a world-class conference on C.S. Lewis with the theme, “Telling a More Beautiful Story: Lessons from C.S. Lewis on Reaching a Fractured World,” that will focus on many of the themes we have discussed in class over the past few years. We will have an incredible line-up of speakers addressing key topics where Lewis has much wisdom. It is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to have these people all on one stage. Like the previous Mere Anglicanism conferences, we are confident this one will sell out, so please register early to ensure you get a place.
I hope you will be able to join us for this extraordinary event. Please share with your friends and church family, and pray that God will use this conference for the building up of His Kingdom.
Conference details and a registration link are below. You can also follow the conference on Instagram and Facebook for further updates.

Mark your calendars for January 26–28, 2023, when the renowned Mere Anglicanism Conference returns to Charleston, SC! The conference theme, “Telling a More Beautiful Story: Lessons from C.S. Registration opens TODAY, October 4, at MereAnglicanism.org!
Conference speakers:

• The Rev. Dr. Michael Ward, Oxford professor and Lewis scholar
• Dr. Philip Ryken, President of Wheaton College
• Dr. Simon Horobin, Professor: Magdalen College, Oxford

Presentations will build on the conference theme by elucidating lessons from Lewis’s life and works that can inform our telling the Gospel story with beauty, truth, and goodness. Specific topics will include longing and the imagination, the importance of Scripture, friendship, lessons from the Narnia stories, and dealing with suffering. The conference will include two worship services: an opening Choral Evensong and a Festal Choral Eucharist, led by the St. Philip’s Choir, who have just returned from a week-long choral residency at St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, where they sang Evensong daily and the principal service Sunday. The Most Reverend Dr. Foley Beach, Archbishop of the Anglican Church in North America, will be the celebrant at the Festal Eucharist, and the Rt. Rev. Chip Edgar, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina, will preside at Evensong.
Conference sessions will be held at the Charleston Music Hall, with accommodations available next door at the Hampton Inn, in the heart of Charleston’s famed Historic District. The conference registration fee of $250 includes all sessions and materials and services; meals and accommodations are on your own.
