On November 29th, 2023, we will be celebrating C. S. Lewis Reading Day. This is, to our knowledge, the first event of its kind, and one which we hope will continue for many years to come…
Why should Tolkien nerds have all the fun?
The Tolkien fandom has had a Tolkien Reading Day on March 25th since it was established by The Tolkien Society in 2003.
On this day, Tolkien fans share their favourite quotations from Tolkien’s works on social media, as well as watch (typically the extended editions!) of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Tolkien podcasts and YouTube channels host special episodes and events are often held at schools, museums, and libraries.
We felt like it was time for Lewis to be likewise honoured! Here’s what we have planned for our inaugural celebration…
Share quotations…
On C. S. Lewis Reading Day, we invite all C. S. Lewis fans to share their favourite quotations on Facebook, Twitter, etc.
We’re asking everyone to tag their posts with #CSLewisReadingDay. Let’s get that hashtag trending!
We encourage everyone to produce beautiful graphical versions of their favourite Lewis quotations, but if you’d like to save some time, we have also amassed a very large collection of quotation graphics over the past seven years. Please feel free to download and share any of them.
All together, in one place…
The main event of November 29th will be a YouTube and Facebook livestream. In addition to answering questions from the chat box, we will be discussing a variety of topics, including:
