Biographical Information

Dr. Jerry Root is a graduate of Whittier College and Talbot Graduate School of Theology at Biola University, both located in Southern California. He received his Ph.D. from the Open University through the Oxford Centre for Missions Studies.

He and his wife, Claudia, have four grown children, all of whom are married, and fifteen grandchildren.

Dr. Root has written many articles about Lewis, lectured on him at 78 Universities in 18 different countries, and is a popular speaker at Lewis conferences around the world.

He is an author and editor of many books. C. S. Lewis and a Problem of Evil: An Investigation of a Pervasive Theme The Quotable C. S. Lewis The Sacrament of Evangelism The Surprising Imagination of C. S. Lewis The Neglected C. S. Lewis …and also a book which concerns today’s subject, Splendour in the Dark: C. S. Lewis’s Dymer in His Life and Work.
